”We could not be more delighted with the house Maria created for us. It was not an easy brief: we wanted to transform a dark and pokey, badly laid out home with a north facing garden, into a light filled space, suitable for a wheel chair user, that was also able to accommodate large gatherings of family and friends. The work had to be done under difficult circumstances as the project coincided with the Pandemic and Brexit.
Maria went above and beyond. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She altered floor levels to accommodate a lift, designed a beautiful staircase and a spectacular bookcase, conjured a cloaks and boots cupboard out of a tiny lobby and created a ‘secret’, south facing garden out of a garage. She combined the old and the new by suggesting ‘shadow’ wainscots and discreet storage. She coped with changes of mind and loss of contractors.
